Figs are a powerhouse.. They are said to be one of the oldest fruits dating back to biblical times and were one of the first cultivated fruits. The fig is actually an infructescence, (inverted flower)🌷. A fig trees roots grow super deep, the deepest recorded roots have reached depths of 400 feet, so don't worry about top soil degradation when it comes to certain fruits.

Geoffrey Chaucer.✨ This is one that I sometimes find difficult, fruit trees are a good teacher. 🌿Brown Turkey / Common Fig: Home grown in the back garden whoop!! - last year I only had one fig, but this year is looking better. Figs have been cultivated since ancient times and are regarded as sacred by many cultures. The ancient Hebrews looked upon the fig tree as a symbol of peace and plenty. Mohammad's followers called it the "Tree of Heaven."

Black mission Fig: These sacred figs tasted oh soooo good!!! Originate from the Middle East and Western Asia. Early cultivation dates back to Egypt around the 9400-9200 BC, way before we started the domestication of wheat, barley and legumes. Early Olympic athletes used figs as a training food 🚵🏽🏊🏽. According to Buddhist legend, Buddha achieved enlightenment in 528 BC while sitting under a bo tree, a kind of fig tree 🌳🙏🏽. They are also a symbol of abundance, fertility and sweetness 😋.
