This amazing looking tropical fruit is native to Indonesia and got its name Rambutan from the word Rambut meaning "hair" in Malay. Also known as "Chom Chom" in Vietnamese meaning "messy hair" due to its soft messy spines covering the skin.πŸ‘ΆOnce peeled it looks and tastes similar to a Longan, Lychee or grape. Over 200 verities in varying colours, each with a slightly different flavour. The hermaphrodite trees are the most fruitful and usually fruit twice a year 🌳 :-)!
