Date (Greek for "finger") Palm is one of the oldest fruits and can be traced back to the period of Ancient Egyptians. Known as the "fruits of paradise" in Islamic tradition. This soft, oval shaped, super sweet variety is edible in three different stages of development, unlike most which are only edible in one. Khalal (yellow), Rutab (soft) and Tamr (semi-dry).
